Professional Training for Mauritius Independent Commission against Corruption

ICAC officers visited Mauritius between 3 and 7 July to organise a professional anti-corruption training for over 50 members of the local Independent Commission Against Corruption (MICAC). Apart from the training, ICAC officers also paid a field visit to study the work of integrity education and corruption prevention of MICAC, and shared Hong Kong's three-pronged anti-corruption approach consisting of law enforcement, corruption prevention and preventive education. The opening ceremony of the training programme was officiated by Dr Navin Beekarry, Director-General of MICAC. Mr Zhu Liying, Chinese Ambassador to Mauritius, also delivered a speech in the ceremony.  During their stay, ICAC officers visited the Chinese Embassy to introduce the development of Hong Kong's anti-corruption work and ICAC’s work on international cooperation.  As one of the pilot projects of the Hong Kong International Academy Against Corruption, the training programme has achieved fruitful results.
