Webinar on Digital and Accounting Forensics: Practical Application in Anti-Corruption Cases

As corruption and financial crimes grow increasingly sophisticated worldwide, digital forensics and forensic accounting have become indispensable tools for effective investigations and prosecutions. The Hong Kong International Academy Against Corruption (HKIAAC), in collaboration with the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA), successfully held a webinar titled "Digital Forensics & Forensic Accounting: Practical Applications in Anti-Corruption Cases – from Investigation to Prosecution" on 18 June 2025.
This webinar brought together anti-corruption experts from Hong Kong, Brunei Darussalam and Singapore, who shared practical insights into digital forensics and forensic accounting, including forensic analysis technique for digital devices, cryptocurrency tracking, innovative applications of AI in investigations, and best practices for cross-border asset recovery. The session aims to foster cross-border collaboration and knowledge sharing among professions in the field.
The webinar attracted nearly 1,000 participants from over 60 countries and regions worldwide. Attendees actively engaged in discussions, raising questions on challenges in digital evidence collection and mechanisms for cross-border collaboration. The experts' real-world case studies and practical advice were met with widespread acclaim.
Looking ahead, the HKIAAC is committed to organizing more international seminars to further enhance technical capabilities and collaborative efficiency in the global fight against corruption.
