2024-1-25

ICAC officers visited Maldives from 22 to 25 January to deliver an Anti-corruption Capacity Building Programme tailored for about 50 personnel of the Anti-Corruption Commission, Maldives, as one of the initiatives to strengthen collaboration with the “Belt and Road” countries.  In addition to exchanging corruption prevention strategies and experiences on investigation, ICAC officers also arranged an arrest and search exercise for the participants during the programme.  Participants commented that the programme was very helpful to their work. The ICAC thanked the Chinese Ambassador to Maldives, H.E. Ms Wang Lixin for arranging ICAC officers to visit the Chinese Embassy at Maldives.  During the visit, ICAC officers updated Ms Wang on Hong Kong’s situation on anti-corruption development and international cooperation.  At the closing ceremony of the programme, Ms Wang mentioned that she hoped the two parties could keep enhancing anti-corruption capabilities through strengthened exchanges and cooperation. Following the establishment of the Hong Kong International Academy Against Corruption in February 2024, the ICAC will continue to share its experience with anti-graft fighters worldwide. The ICAC will also actively collaborate with the "Belt and Road" countries to build a clean silk road, in line with the national’s anti-corruption strategies.
