Knowledge Nexus Webinar Series - Impacts of Corruption Education on Social Culture

Education plays a vital role in shaping society’s values and it is one of the most effective tools in the fight against corruption. On 18 March 2026, the Hong Kong International Academy Against Corruption (HKIAAC), in collaboration with the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA), successfully held a webinar titled “Impacts of Corruption Education on Social Culture”. The event brought together nearly 800 registered participants from anti-corruption agencies across almost 60 countries and regions.

The session served as a platform to share strategies for effective integrity education among anti-corruption agencies worldwide. A total of four distinguished speakers shared their expertise during the webinar:

  • Mr Joe TAM from the ICAC highlighted how the ICAC utilizes annual surveys to gauge public views on its graft-fighting efforts and to map out anti-corruption strategies. He also shared research collaboration between HKIAAC and a Chinese Mainland University on how integrity education influences the public’s willingness to report corruption.

  • Ms Dionysia TSOPELA and Ms Marina SPYRATOU from the National Transparency Authority of Greece, and Dr Emily MWORIA from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission of Kenya, shared their practical insights and experiences in implementing integrity education programmes that effectively raise social awareness on anti-corruption.

Participants found the webinar highly informative, offering invaluable insights for implementing integrity education initiatives within their respective jurisdictions. The session concluded with an engaging Q&A, where attendees explored the practical implementation of various anti-corruption education strategies.

Looking ahead, the HKIAAC remains dedicated to hosting international exchange platforms that empower global practitioners to share expertise and foster a collective culture of integrity.
